From the Times: July 3, 1921
In the great international gymkhana of 1921, the UK suffered another defeat or two in the past week. America and France still hold the men’s and women’s lawn tennis singles; Norway and Holland carried away the Thames Challenge Cup and Diamond Sculls in Henley; and at the Amateur Athletic Association, although two Englishmen lowered the previous record for the mile, Sweden set two records along with the third win, and the long jump and hurdles went to the United States and France. Regarding the third test match, one only has to say that the game on the first day of the game was not promising from an English perspective, but the game is not over yet.
